Xinjiang, a region in Northwest China, recently hosted the 2026 Xinjiang International Travel Agent Conference. The conference brought together approximately 460 travel trade representatives and industry guests from 23 countries, as well as Hong Kong SAR, China.
Global Tourism Efforts
The event served as a platform to support Xinjiang in building a new pattern of open cultural and tourism development. Xinjiang introduced 22 specific measures to boost inbound and border tourism, including optimizing visa and border clearance policies and promoting deeper integration between aviation and tourism.
Xinjiang received 2.3615 million inbound visitor arrivals in 2025, generating international tourism revenue of $2.065 billion. The region aims to strengthen tourism resource sharing, expand cultural and tourism openness, and refine its portfolio of inbound tourism products.
