Brazil Eliminates Haiti From World Cup

Brazil eliminated Haiti from the World Cup with a 3-0 victory on Friday night. Matheus Cunha scored two goals, and Vinícius Júnior scored and assisted on one of Cunha’s goals.

Brazil’s Decisive Performance

The Seleção got the decisive performance they needed, with Cunha showing why he should have been in the starting lineup in Brazil’s previous match against Morocco. Cunha’s first career World Cup goal was a rebound, and he then sent a left-footed strike into the upper left corner for a 2-0 lead in the first half.

Brazil forward Raphinha was subbed out with an injury in the first half, but Vinícius Júnior closed the half with a goal to secure Brazil’s 3-0 lead. The win eliminates Haiti from the World Cup, and Brazil will face Scotland on Wednesday in Miami Gardens, Florida.
