The HBO series ‘The White Lotus’ is currently filming its fourth season at the Château de la Messardière, a 19th-century palatial home turned resort in the French Riviera. The show, which satirizes the lives of the wealthy, has previously filmed at luxurious locations in Sicily and Thailand.
Filming Locations
This season, the show is using the Château de la Messardière as its primary filming location, with some scenes also being shot at the Cannes Film Festival and the Mandarin Oriental Lutetia in Paris. The show’s creator, Mike White, was spotted staying at the Hotel Negresco in Nice, France, last year, sparking rumors about the show’s filming location.
A guest at the Château de la Messardière, Kat Jamieson, got a glimpse of the filming process and even spotted actress Laura Dern, who is joining the show’s cast this season. Jamieson said that the filming was ‘very exciting’ and that she and her husband were able to watch the scene being filmed from their hotel room terrace.
Resort Life
The Château de la Messardière is a luxurious resort that offers its guests a range of amenities, including multiple outdoor pools, a tennis court, and an outdoor gym. The resort also has a private beach club, Jardin Tropeziana, which is accessible by Rolls-Royce. Jamieson said that the resort’s staff did a ‘nice job’ of being ‘quiet and respectful’ during the filming process, and that many guests may not have even been aware that filming was taking place.
