Texas Tech Rises In Global Rankings

Texas Tech University has climbed higher in major global university rankings, according to the U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 best global universities rankings. The university rose six spots from last year, now ranking #562 out of 2,604 universities worldwide.

National Rankings

Texas Tech also moved ahead one spot in the national rankings, from #124 to #123. The university placed in the top 50 in three categories: agricultural sciences (33rd), plant and animal science (41st), and space science (48th).

Texas Tech University President Lawrence Schovanec praised the faculty and staff for their hard work, stating that the gains demonstrate the university’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation. The university’s strong performance is a testament to its dedication to providing solutions to challenges that affect communities in Texas and around the world.
