Pirates Win Series Over Athletics

The Pittsburgh Pirates closed out their road trip with a statement game in Oakland, hammering the Athletics 12-4 Wednesday night. The team pounded out 16 hits, batting .381 on the night with a team OPS over 1000.

Braxton Ashcraft was outstanding on the mound, pitching six innings with just one earned run and seven strikeouts, picking up the win. Ryan O’Hearn was the star of the game, going three for five with a home run and six RBI, driving in half the Pirates’ runs by himself.

Bryan Reynolds added two hits and two RBI, Marcell Ozuna went deep, and Spencer Horwitz reached base four times with two doubles. The Pirates now head to Colorado for a weekend set, opening Friday night in Denver.
