Hoover High School has plenty to celebrate this week as one of its own has been honored with the state’s most prestigious individual baseball award. Will Adams, a standout player for the Hoover Buccaneers and a committed signee to LSU, has been named the Alabama Sports Writers Association’s 2026 Mr. Baseball, according to AL.com.
The Mr. Baseball award is the highest individual honor given to a high school baseball player in the state of Alabama, recognizing excellence both on the field and as a representative of the sport. Adams’s selection places him among an elite group of players who have earned the distinction across the state’s storied high school baseball tradition.
For Hoover — a community long known for producing top-tier athletic talent — the recognition is another proud milestone. Adams now heads to Baton Rouge to join the LSU Tigers, one of college baseball’s premier programs, carrying the Hoover name with him as he takes the next step in what promises to be an exciting career.
Congratulations to Will Adams, the Hoover Buccaneers program, and the entire Hoover community on this well-deserved honor!
