The Altoona Police Department has welcomed a new member. Officer McVey and his partner K-9 Rico were sworn in on Monday night. The pair recently completed 12 weeks of training.
The department said Officer McVey wanted to combine his passion for serving the community with his love for dogs, so he paid for Rico with his own money.
