Fayetteville Man Accused of Killing Ex-Girlfriend

Kacey Jennings, a Fayetteville man, is on trial for capital murder, accused of killing his ex-girlfriend Allison Castro in August 2022. Prosecutors presented video evidence of Jennings recording himself on his phone, discussing Castro’s death, their relationship, and what he said he did with her body.

Video Evidence

Jurors were shown hours-long videos recorded by Jennings, in which he appeared to be documenting his final thoughts. He spoke directly to the camera about his relationship with Castro, saying, ‘She was my best friend.’ Jennings also mentioned the loss of their unborn child, stating, ‘May came around, and we lost the baby.’ He further said, ‘That kid was the death of us when it died.’

The most graphic portions of the recordings came when Jennings described what he said happened after Castro was shot. He admitted to disposing of her remains in different areas near Beaver Lake and claimed the shooting was accidental. Jennings said, ‘I shot Ally on accident while trying to commit suicide.’ Towards the end of one video, Jennings displayed different pills and syringes, saying one was morphine, and the video showed him taking a pill.
