Albany’s Warehouse District buzzed with celebration this past weekend as the 2026 Capital Pride event drew a record crowd of more than 30,000 people, making it the largest gathering in the event’s history, according to WRGB.
The LGBTQ+ community and its supporters filled the streets for what has become one of the Capital Region’s most anticipated annual celebrations. The milestone turnout reflects the growing enthusiasm and community spirit that surrounds Capital Pride each year.
The festive weekend energy extended beyond the Pride festivities. Also in Albany’s Warehouse District, WNYT reported that a free outdoor watch party was held for NBA Finals Game 5, giving sports fans a chance to gather together under the open sky and cheer on their team at no cost — a welcoming, community-minded event for all.
Together, these back-to-back gatherings showcased Albany at its best: a city that knows how to bring people together, celebrate in style, and make sure everyone has a place at the party.
