Are you tired of cluttered phone screens and wasted storage space? You can remove or hide unused apps to streamline your device. Apple, Google, and Samsung include various preinstalled apps, but not all of them are essential. To start, take stock of your installed apps and identify the ones you never use.
Removing Unused Apps
On iOS devices, go to the iPhone Storage tool in the General menu of the settings to find space-hogging or unused apps. You can delete unwanted apps by swiping or tapping an app’s name and choosing Offload or Delete. Android devices also have similar options, such as disabling or archiving apps.
For Android devices, tap Storage to see the space apps are using, or go to the Google Play Store, tap your profile icon, and select Manage Apps & Device. You can uninstall apps by swiping up to open the Apps Drawer, dragging an app to the top of the screen to the Uninstall button, or pressing an icon, selecting the App Info option, and tapping the Uninstall button.
Hiding Unused Apps
If you cannot delete an app, you can hide it to avoid seeing its icon. On iOS devices, press an icon on the home screen and select the Remove option. On Android devices, you can also press an icon and select the Remove option or not add it to the home screen in the first place.
Organizing apps in home screen folders is another option. To start a folder, press and drag one icon on top of another. You can also tuck apps in hidden folders for security reasons.
Restoring Deleted Apps
If you change your mind, you can reinstall your deleted apps by going to your app store and downloading them again. Android apps that are hidden but not deleted can be restored or enabled again from the app’s info page.
