A new bourbon is coming to Kentucky, combining Chinese and Kentucky distilling methods into one drink. Whiskey House of Kentucky is partnering with SHĀNG to create a unique kind of whiskey. The drink combines an American red sorghum whiskey with jiàngxiāng whiskey.
Unique Distilling Process
The new SHĀNG baijiu whiskey line is distilled in traditional Chinese pots before being redistilled to a whiskey base inside Kentucky oak. David Mandell, CEO and Co-Founder of Whiskey House of Kentucky said this new bourbon drink has the potential to grow immensely.
“SHĀNG represents the development in the creation of a whole new category of spirits, bringing again 5000 years of Chinese distillation heritage, along with great Kentucky whiskey making to bring this new product, this new category to life,” Mandell said.
The bottle can be pre-ordered online. No date has been announced for the bourbon to hit the shelves.
