California Gov. Newsom Claims Trump Justice Department Investigation

California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced on Monday that he is being investigated by the Trump Justice Department, which he claims is a ‘personal vendetta’ by President Donald Trump. Newsom made the announcement in a video posted to social media, stating that Trump is targeting him and his wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, despite no evidence of any wrongdoing.

Newsom’s Response

Newsom said in the video that Trump ‘can subpoena my records, you can investigate me, you can harass me, put my name on every and any enemies list you have, but leave my wife and family out of your personal vendetta.’ He also called Trump ‘a man with no character’ and accused him of ‘selling the presidency.’ The Justice Department declined to comment on the matter, and the FBI has not responded to requests for comment.

The investigation is reportedly being led by the Trump Justice Department, which has been criticized for its handling of high-profile cases involving political figures. Newsom, a potential 2028 presidential contender, has been a vocal critic of Trump and his administration.
