UFC Boss Dana White Says No to Another White House Fight

UFC CEO Dana White has stated that the recent fight at the White House, dubbed Freedom 250, will not be repeated. The event, which was held to celebrate President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday and the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, featured a series of fights, including a championship win by Justin Gaethje.

The Event

Despite the success of the event, White cited the logistical challenges and high costs of hosting a fight at the White House as reasons for not repeating it. The event featured a unique setting, with fighters walking out to the cage through the West Wing and Oval Office, and even meeting with President Trump.

Gaethje, who won the UFC lightweight title, said that the experience was ‘amazing’ and that he was able to skim a copy of the Declaration of Independence before his fight. He also won $825,000 in bonus money for his performance.

Future Plans

White stated that the UFC will return to more traditional venues for future events, including the upcoming International Fight Week in Las Vegas. The company’s biggest box office draw, Conor McGregor, is set to return to the UFC at the event.
