A teen is dead, and two people, including a small child, are in the hospital after a shooting late Friday night in Henderson. According to the Henderson Police Department, officers were called to reports of a shooting just minutes before midnight on Saturday at the intersection of Rose and South Williams streets.
When they arrived, they found 15-year-old Manny Escobedo with a gunshot wound. Officers said Escobedo died from his injuries at a local hospital. Police also learned that a 25-year-old, Michael Edwards Mitchell, and a small child arrived at another hospital with non-life-threatening injuries during the same incident.
During their investigation, officers determined that Escobedo and Mitchell traveled to Henderson to meet each other. During the meeting, the two shot at each other, resulting in Escobedo’s injuries and damage to Mitchell’s vehicle.
