Alvin Campbell Jr., the brother of Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Campbell, has been convicted of multiple counts of rape and assault. The verdict was reached on June 14 after a week-long deliberation by the Suffolk Superior Court jury.
Case Details
Prosecutors alleged that Campbell targeted intoxicated women outside bars in Boston, pretending to be an Uber driver before assaulting them. DNA evidence linked him to the crimes, which occurred between 2017 and 2019. The jury found Campbell guilty of six counts of rape, two counts of kidnapping, two counts of indecent assault and battery, nine counts of photographing an unsuspecting person in the nude, and two counts of assault with intent to rape.
The jury deadlocked on one count of rape, and the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office will determine its next course of action on that charge. Campbell will be sentenced on June 29 and could face life in prison due to his criminal history.
