The Topsfield Fire Department used hydraulic rescue tools to free the victim from the car due to the severity of the accident. Neighbors and bystanders provided critical assistance, and advanced life support treatment was given by the Topsfield and Middleton Fire departments. Despite these efforts, the victim died from his injuries at Beverly Hospital.
