Topsfield Crash Kills 19-Year-Old

A 19-year-old from Boxford died in a car crash in Topsfield, Massachusetts, late Thursday night. The victim was driving on Washington Street when the car slammed into a tree around 10:14 p.m.

Crash Details

The Topsfield Fire Department used hydraulic rescue tools to free the victim from the car due to the severity of the accident. Neighbors and bystanders provided critical assistance, and advanced life support treatment was given by the Topsfield and Middleton Fire departments. Despite these efforts, the victim died from his injuries at Beverly Hospital.

Topsfield Police Chief Jenifer Collins Brown and Captain Daniel Bell praised the heroic actions of the neighbors and bystanders who tried to help the victim. The police are still investigating the crash, with Massachusetts State Police assisting in the reconstruction. A preliminary investigation indicates that speed was a contributing factor.
