Turnaround and Success

After a rough start, which included two winless seasons in Pac-12 play, the team began to show signs of improvement. In 2019, they made their first NCAA tournament appearance, marking the beginning of a new era for the program. In the Big 12 tournament, Arizona defeated UCF in the first round and advanced to play TCU in the championship, where they ultimately fell to the Horned Frogs. The team then turned their attention to the NCAA tournament, where they hosted the first three rounds. They defeated NAU and Clemson, advancing to the Sweet Sixteen for the fourth straight season.

In the Sweet Sixteen, Arizona faced Oklahoma, a team they had lost to earlier in the season.
