A 70-year-old woman was shot Monday at a bus stop on Egan Drive in Orange County and remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Investigation Ongoing

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has since told WESH 2 they believe the suspect, who is still on the loose, has left the area.

Exclusive video from Chopper 2 showed deputies searching the area for evidence as investigators worked to determine what led to the shooting.

The same day of the shooting, deputies focused on a home about a street away from the shooting near the intersection of Faber Drive and Flanders Way.

Armed deputies surrounded the home with weapons drawn, served a search warrant, and called for a person inside to come out with their hands up.

Deputies said no one was inside the home.

Authorities have not confirmed if the investigation into the home is connected to the shooting on Egan Drive.

They said this remains an active and ongoing attempted murder investigation.

Residents in the area, many of whom have Ring cameras, said they provided footage to law enforcement but did not want to speak on camera.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has not released details about the suspect and believes the gunman left the area.
