A couple in Maine stumbled upon a massive, colorful jellyfish on Lincolnville Beach. Christopher Mir and his partner, Lisa Utman, found the lion’s mane jellyfish, which was almost 5 feet wide.

Mir took a photo and a video of Utman standing next to the jellyfish and shared it on Facebook. The video has more than 300,000 views, and many marine biologists and experts have weighed in about the couple’s find.

According to Mir, the jellyfish’s vibrant colors led many people to believe it was created using artificial intelligence. However, Mir confirmed that the jellyfish was real. He also noted that the jellyfish was releasing millions of larvae, which will be carried away by the next tide, describing it as a ‘circle of life’ moment.
