A tragic accident occurred in Westfield, Indiana, on Tuesday evening, resulting in the death of a child. According to the Westfield Police Department, officers and emergency personnel responded to a report of a child struck by a vehicle at around 6 p.m. in the 19600 block of Tomlinson Road.

The child, a juvenile male, was suffering from apparent life-threatening injuries and was in critical condition when officials arrived on the scene. Despite efforts to save the child, they were pronounced dead shortly after 5 a.m. on Wednesday at a children’s hospital in Indianapolis.

The department’s crash reconstruction team is investigating the incident, and the driver of the vehicle remained on the scene. There is no indication that impairment was a contributing factor in the crash.
