Lubbock Gets New Sports Complex

A huge new sports and recreation venue is set to transform South Lubbock, with plans unveiled for a 60,000-square-foot athletic complex near the intersection of 104th Street and Milwaukee Avenue. The Forge Athletic Complex announced that construction is scheduled to begin in July, with the facility expected to welcome athletes, teams, and spectators in early 2027.

State-of-the-Art Sports Facility Coming to Lubbock

Designed to support a wide range of athletic programs, the new complex will feature six regulation-size basketball courts and nine volleyball courts. The venue will host local leagues, competitive tournaments, training programs, youth camps, and other year-round sporting events.

As Lubbock continues to expand, community leaders and sports organizers have identified a growing need for additional indoor athletic space. The Forge Athletic Complex aims to address that demand by providing a modern facility for athletes of all ages and skill levels.

The development represents the first major sports complex project of its kind in the city in more than a decade, creating new opportunities for local teams and regional competitions. According to Forge Athletic Complex leadership, the project is focused on more than just sports. The facility is intended to serve as a gathering place where athletes can develop their skills, teams can compete, and families can connect through shared experiences.
