Vince’s Restaurant Gains Social Media Fame with Old-School Charm

In the heart of Clearing, Vince’s Restaurant and Pizzeria has become an unexpected social media sensation. Co-owner Micky Parmigiani, who runs the family-owned establishment with his brother Johnny, has been charming viewers with his straightforward videos that highlight the restaurant’s homemade Italian buffet.

A Family Legacy

Vince’s, celebrating its 70th anniversary, was originally opened by Micky’s parents, Vincent and Mary Parmigiani, in 1956. The restaurant has moved locations within the Southwest Side over the years, finally settling at 6217 W. 63rd St. The family legacy continues as Micky and Johnny maintain the traditions their parents started.

Despite the lack of a dedicated social media team, Vince’s has gained a substantial following. The videos, often filmed by head server Lynn Marie Young, feature Micky describing each dish on the buffet line. His unpretentious style and dedication to authentic Italian cooking have resonated with viewers, drawing diners from across the suburbs and even out of state.

Old-School Appeal

The appeal of Vince’s lies not only in its affordable buffet, priced at $15.95 with a drink purchase, but also in Micky’s genuine presentation. His South Side accent and detailed descriptions of dishes like baked rigatoni in vodka sauce and mostaccioli Genovese have captured the hearts of many. The videos have even featured Micky’s granddaughters, adding a personal touch that has further endeared the restaurant to its audience.

Vince’s buffet is available four days a week, and the resurgence of this offering has been a boon for the restaurant. After closing during the pandemic, the buffet’s return has been met with enthusiasm, proving that traditional family recipes and heartfelt service never go out of style.
