Broward County Opens Second Round for School Choice Applications

Broward County Public Schools is offering a second chance for families to participate in its School Choice program, which allows students to apply to schools outside their assigned home boundaries. This initiative provides families with the opportunity to explore different educational experiences for their children.

Application Details

The second round of late applications begins on Monday, June 8, and will remain open until July 16. This follows the initial open enrollment period, which ran from November 3, 2025, to January 28, 2026. During this late application window, families can apply for general re-assignment, magnet programs, or Nova schools, provided there are available seats.

It’s important for families to note that if an application was submitted during the first cycle of the late application window, any new application will overwrite the previous one. However, submitting an application during this late window will not affect the status of any application submitted during the open enrollment period.

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted through the Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) focus parent portal. This ensures that all applications are processed efficiently and that families receive timely updates on their application status.

The School Choice program is a valuable opportunity for families seeking educational environments that best fit their children’s needs. By offering this second round of applications, Broward County Public Schools demonstrates its commitment to providing flexible educational options for its community.
