Tragic Collision in Raynham Claims Life of New Bedford Motorcyclist

A tragic accident occurred in Raynham, Massachusetts, on Friday night, resulting in the death of a 52-year-old motorcyclist from New Bedford. The collision involved a Ford Explorer and a Harley Davidson motorcycle at the intersection of South Street East and Hill Street.

Emergency Response and Investigation

Raynham’s police and fire departments were promptly dispatched to the scene around 9:40 p.m. Upon arrival, they found the motorcyclist with critical injuries. Although a medical helicopter was initially requested, it was later decided that the victim would be transported by Raynham Rescue, accompanied by flight medics, to Morton Hospital. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The identity of the deceased has not been released, with authorities only confirming that he was a resident of New Bedford. The driver of the SUV, a 22-year-old from Avon, has also not been named, and it remains unclear whether any charges will be filed against him.

Ongoing Investigation

The Massachusetts State Police’s collision analysis and reconstruction section is assisting Raynham detectives in the ongoing investigation. Authorities have directed any further inquiries to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office as they continue to gather more information about the incident.
