Secretary of State Paul Pate has reiterated the reliability of Iowa’s election system, highlighting that all 99 counties in the state follow a rigorous procedure to test tabulators publicly. “This procedure was to assure Iowans that tabulators, as they were publicly tested, are accurate. And the votes that we are giving us the results are 100% correct,” Pate stated. He expressed pride in the fact that the results have consistently matched the tabulators’ outputs over the years.

Polk County Auditor Jamie Fitzgerald noted a significant trend during the election, observing that many voters in Polk County changed political parties. Additionally, the county experienced an increase of 10,000 voters compared to the primary election four years ago.
