Heritage Homes Development in Moline Secures State Funding

The Arc of the Quad Cities Area has announced that its Heritage Homes development in Moline, Illinois, has been awarded funding through the Illinois Housing Development Authority’s Permanent Supportive Housing Development Program. This funding is set to aid in the creation of safe, affordable housing combined with supportive services aimed at promoting independence, stability, and community inclusion for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Supportive Housing for Community Inclusion

The Heritage Homes project, a collaboration between The Arc of the Quad Cities Area and Community Home Partners, will provide 24 Permanent Supportive Housing units. These units will include shared spaces designed to foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for residents. Moline Mayor Sangeetha Rayapati expressed her support for the project, stating, “This project will create a welcoming environment where individuals can thrive while receiving the support they need to live meaningful and fulfilling lives.”

John Chow, Executive Director and CEO of Community Home Partners, emphasized the importance of housing as a foundation for building stable lives. “Heritage Homes will provide more than a place to live; it will provide stability, opportunity, and a sense of belonging,” Chow said.

Statewide Support for Housing Initiatives

The funding for Heritage Homes is part of the IHDA’s Round XII Permanent Supportive Housing Development Program, which awarded state and federal resources to six developments across Illinois. This initiative underscores the state’s commitment to supporting housing projects that cater to the needs of individuals with disabilities, ensuring they have access to both housing and necessary supportive services.

As the Heritage Homes project progresses, more details will be shared with the community, highlighting the ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of life for residents in the Quad Cities area.
