STRATHMORE, N.Y. — On Saturday, Nov. 7, families, alumni, local businesses and community members gathered at Most Holy Rosary Elementary School for the annual Taste of Strathmore fundraiser. The event ran from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the school’s gymnasium at 1031 Bellevue Ave., offering a night of food, live entertainment and charitable giving.
Local businesses serve up a culinary showcase
Central New York’s favorite eateries lined up along a “Restaurant Row” featuring dishes from Coleman’s, Lannie’s Bar & Restaurant, Ioli Pizza, Raj Saffron House and The Blarney Stone. Attendees sampled a variety of cuisines while supporting the school’s mission.
Music, auctions and prize drawings add to the excitement
Saturday’s entertainment included a performance by SAMMY Award‑winning artist Mira Grimm, who provided a lively soundtrack for the evening. A silent auction and prize drawings kept the atmosphere festive, and the school’s popular Dozen Dinners Drawing offered participants a chance to win $100 gift cards to local restaurants and cash prizes. Winners did not need to be present at the event to claim their awards.
Principal emphasizes the impact of community support
School Principal Sherri Stone said the contributions from families, alumni, neighbors and local businesses enable Most Holy Rosary to expand its educational offerings. “The generosity we see each year strengthens our ability to provide enriching programs for our students,” Stone said in a news release.
Admission and participation details
Admission to the fundraiser was $25 per person, and the event was open to adults ages 21 and older. While the gathering celebrated a longstanding neighborhood tradition, the primary goal remained clear: to raise funds that directly benefit the school’s students.
Looking ahead
Organizers hope the success of this year’s Taste of Strathmore will encourage continued involvement from Strathmore residents and businesses. More information about future events and ways to support Most Holy Rosary Elementary can be found at mhrsyr.org/taste-of-strathmore.
