Naperville families are invited to a special celebration at the DuPage Children’s Museum (DCM) on Thursday, November 12, as the museum launches a Monopoly edition that spotlights local landmarks and organizations. The event runs from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and is included with museum admission; members attend for free.
Local landmarks on the board
The new Naperville edition of Monopoly incorporates beloved community sites, giving residents a chance to see their hometown reflected in one of the world’s most recognizable board games. While a private board reveal for participating organizations occurs at 5 p.m., the public portion of the celebration offers hands‑on activities for families.
Family‑focused fun
Guests can meet Mr. Monopoly, design custom game pieces, create a family‑location square, and even craft a Plot Twist card. Interactive stations include a Bank Counting Game, Money Tunnel, railroad‑building challenge, a Game Photo Op, and a Top Hat scavenger hunt. Children can also make game‑money self‑portraits and test their skills at a variety of playful challenges.
Purchase the edition
The Naperville Monopoly board will be available for purchase at the event for $39, allowing families to take home a piece of the community celebration.
Admission details
General admission to DCM is $22 for adults and children age 1 and older, $21 for seniors, and free for members and children under one year. The museum’s policy requires that all adults be accompanied by a child, reinforcing the event’s family‑oriented focus.
Quotes
“Monopoly is one of those rare games that brings generations together around the same table,” said Kimberly Stull, President & CEO of DuPage Children’s Museum. “We love that this edition celebrates the places and organizations that make Naperville such a vibrant community. At DCM, we get to bring that spirit to life through play—giving families a chance to create, explore, laugh, and make memories together while celebrating something distinctly local.”
