Habitat for Humanity Opens Homeownership Program Applications in Casper

Residents of Natrona County have an opportunity to achieve homeownership through Habitat for Humanity the Heart of Wyoming, which has opened its application cycle for the Homeownership Program. The application period runs from July 1 to July 31, 2026, and is open to those who have lived or worked in the county for at least one year.

Program Details and Requirements

Habitat for Humanity offers homes to qualifying households who meet specific financial criteria and agree to contribute hours of sweat equity during the construction process. This initiative provides no-interest loans, making homeownership more accessible to families in the area. Program Manager Kelly Cooper emphasized the importance of income guidelines to ensure applicants can manage homeownership successfully.

Executive Director Michael Deal shared that the organization is actively securing locations for new builds around the Casper area. Currently, they construct two to three homes annually, with a long-term goal of increasing this to four to six homes per year. This growth aims to support more families in achieving stable housing.

Interested applicants can find more information and apply through the organization’s website or by contacting Program Manager Kelly Cooper directly via email or phone.
