Six Flags Magic Mountain to add Arie Force One coaster in 2027

Six Flags Magic Mountain announced that the park will receive the Arie Force One roller coaster, a Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC) steel‑track hybrid that debuted at Fun Spot Atlanta in 2023. The move was first reported by the Orange County Register and later confirmed by park president Brian Oerding in a prepared statement.

Park transformation underway

Oerding said the addition of Arie Force One is part of a “significant, multi‑year transformation” of the park. Recent projects include the overhaul of Hurricane Harbor Los Angeles and the reimagining of Looney Tunes Land. The next major milestone is slated for 2027 with the debut of the first‑of‑its‑kind Thrill Glider, a suspended motorbike coaster.

“At Six Flags Magic Mountain, we’re building toward something much bigger than any single attraction,” Oerding said. “Our vision includes new attractions, more family experiences, enhanced entertainment and seasonal events, park beautification, new guest amenities, and meaningful infrastructure improvements throughout the property.”

Why Arie Force One matters

Arie Force One was a fan‑favorite at Fun Spot Atlanta, where it opened to rave reviews despite the park’s modest $13 million investment. Fun Spot Atlanta closed earlier this year, leaving the coaster’s future uncertain. Six Flags purchased the ride in September but did not initially disclose its new home. Some coaster enthusiasts doubted a move to Magic Mountain because the park already hosts another large RMC coaster, Twisted Colossus.

However, Magic Mountain recently announced the closure of X2, a long‑troubled “fourth‑dimension” coaster that faced numerous injury reports and lawsuits. The vacancy created by X2’s shutdown opens a strategic slot for a high‑profile RMC coaster, making Arie Force One a logical fit for the park’s evolving lineup.

What’s next for guests

The coaster is expected to debut in 2027, aligning with the rollout of the Thrill Glider. In the meantime, Six Flags plans to share more details about its broader vision early next year, promising additional family‑focused attractions, seasonal events, and infrastructure upgrades.

Local coaster fans can look forward to seeing the first stages of the transformation as trucks deliver the coaster components to the park in the coming weeks. The move underscores Six Flags’ commitment to investing in world‑class attractions that draw families and thrill‑seekers alike, bolstering the regional tourism economy.
