Man Rescued from Lake Sammamish in Critical Condition

A man in his 30s is fighting for his life after being rescued from Lake Sammamish on Tuesday afternoon. According to Eastside Fire and Rescue, the man was initially seen relaxing on an inflatable lounge chair while wearing a life vest. Witnesses later observed him swimming towards the shore before finding him face down in the water.

Immediate Response by Bystanders

Quick-thinking bystanders dragged the man to the shore and began administering CPR. Rescue teams arrived shortly thereafter and continued life-saving efforts for another 30 minutes before transporting him to the hospital. His condition remains life-threatening, according to Eastside Fire.

Safety Warnings as Temperatures Rise

As the weather warms, Eastside Fire and Rescue is urging residents to exercise extreme caution around Washington’s bodies of water. Despite the rising temperatures, lakes, rivers, and the Puget Sound can remain dangerously cold, posing significant risks to swimmers and recreational users.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the unpredictable nature of water safety and the importance of vigilance and preparedness when enjoying outdoor activities.
