The City of Sheridan is inviting community members to participate in its first Citizen Academy, an initiative designed to engage residents with the workings of local government. Led by City staff, the Citizen Academy aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of municipal functions. City Administrator Stu McRae encourages individuals from diverse backgrounds and professions to apply, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in local governance.
The Academy will convene every Wednesday at 5:30 pm, starting from August 12 and running through September 30. Each session will last between two to three hours, allowing participants to delve deeply into various aspects of city operations. The program is limited to 20 participants to ensure a personalized experience.

Interested residents must be at least 18 years old to apply. Applications are being accepted until July 15, 2026, and can be accessed through the city’s official channels.
