McKean County Youth Art Exhibition Opens at Pitt-Bradford

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford is set to host the inaugural McKean County Youth Art Exhibition, a celebration of young artistic talent from across the county. This event, a collaboration between Leadership McKean and Pitt-Bradford Arts, will feature 40 submissions from youth artists representing various communities within McKean County.

Community Support and Engagement

The exhibition will be held at the KOA Art Gallery in Blaisdell Hall on the Pitt-Bradford campus, with an opening reception scheduled for Thursday from 5 to 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, offering an opportunity for the community to engage with and support young local artists. Awards will be presented for selected works during the reception.

Sponsorship from the Allegany National Forest Visitors Bureau and the Alleghany Bradford Corp. has been instrumental in providing awards and support for the participating student artists. Courtney Mealy, director of arts programming at Pitt-Bradford, expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating, “We are excited to celebrate the artistic talent and creativity of youth throughout McKean County. This exhibition provides an opportunity for young artists to share their work with the community while encouraging continued engagement in the arts.”

Exhibition Details

The exhibition will remain open through June 10, with gallery hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This initiative not only highlights the creativity of young artists but also fosters a sense of community and appreciation for the arts in McKean County.
