The Cracker Barrel 400 at Nashville Superspeedway experienced an 80-minute delay due to rain, marking the second consecutive week that NASCAR’s Cup Series has faced weather-related interruptions. The race, held at the 1.33-mile, D-shaped oval, which is NASCAR’s largest concrete track, was postponed just after the national anthem concluded. Drivers eventually started their engines 65 minutes after the scheduled start, with the green flag dropping at 8:40 p.m.
Last week, rain also affected the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, which was won by Daniel Suarez. The weather challenges continued at Nashville, where qualifying was canceled on Saturday due to a storm, prompting officials to ask fans to seek shelter. As per the rulebook, Denny Hamlin, who is currently second in the points race, was awarded his second pole position of the year. Hamlin, with 61 career Cup wins, aims to add another victory to his record.
Ryan Blaney, who won at Nashville last year for his first victory of 2025, is currently third in the points race. He is looking to defend his title at Nashville and secure his second win of the current season.
Looking Ahead
The NASCAR Cup Series will move to Michigan International Speedway next week, where Denny Hamlin will attempt to win for a second consecutive year.
