In a heartwarming display of community engagement, Los Angeles Rams Pro Bowl stars Puka Nacua and Kyren Williams brought their talents and inspiration to Santa Barbara High School. The duo hosted a youth football camp that saw over 500 children, aged 6 to 16, participate in various football drills and activities.
Engaging the Youth
The camp, organized by FlexWork Sports, was a high-energy event where kids rotated through different stations to hone their football skills. Nacua and Williams, both celebrated athletes, took the time to play both offense and defense with the young participants, offering them a unique opportunity to learn directly from professional players.
Williams expressed his enthusiasm about giving back to the community, stating, “This is what it’s all about, being in the position we are in and still have the humbleness to be able to come back and give back to the community. This is how I got inspired, pretty sure this is how Puka got inspired too so it’s just a blessing.”
Local Support and Volunteerism
The event was further enriched by the involvement of current Santa Barbara High School football players, who volunteered as coaches at several skill stations. Their participation not only provided additional guidance to the young athletes but also strengthened the bond between the high school and the broader community.
Following the successful camp in Santa Barbara, Nacua and Williams continued their outreach by heading to Bakersfield for another four-hour camp, demonstrating their commitment to inspiring young athletes across the region.
