In a tragic incident early Sunday morning, a man lost his life on a Fort Worth freeway after stepping out of his vehicle to assess the damage from a minor collision. The accident took place in the southbound lanes of the South Freeway near East Ripy Street, according to the Fort Worth Police Department.

Authorities reported that the adult male driver exited his car following a minor crash, only to be struck by another vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle fled the scene but was later located and detained by police at a different location.
