Six Flags Fiesta Texas, located in San Antonio, has announced an exciting new addition to its lineup of attractions: Werewolf Gorge, the world’s largest family launch coaster. This thrilling ride was unveiled at the park’s FT92 fan event, promising a unique experience for families and coaster enthusiasts.
Innovative Design and Features
The coaster, manufactured by the renowned Vekoma, will stretch over 4,120 feet and include four launches, 32 airtime elements, and reach speeds up to 45 miles per hour. With a height requirement of only 39 inches, Werewolf Gorge is designed to be accessible to younger riders, making it a family-friendly attraction.
Six Flags Fiesta Texas Park Manager Rober Bustler expressed enthusiasm about the new ride, stating, “This is a defining addition to Six Flags Fiesta Texas. Werewolf Gorge brings together storytelling, innovation, and a bold combination of ride elements that truly sets it apart. It delivers an experience that is approachable for families, yet unmatched anywhere in the world.”
Thematic Experience
Werewolf Gorge will offer more than just thrills; it will immerse riders in a story centered around Jasper Bunyan, an eccentric entrepreneur who transforms a forgotten quarry into a roadside attraction filled with cryptid lore and interactive exhibits. The ride promises a climactic finale through a crumbling quarry structure, complete with shadowy movements and glowing eyes, enhancing the thematic experience.
The addition of Werewolf Gorge will restore the coaster count at Six Flags Fiesta Texas to 12, following the closure of the Kid Flash Cosmic Coaster. The new ride is set to open in 2027, coinciding with the park’s 35th anniversary celebration.
