His previous experience also includes serving as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Middle District of Alabama, where he handled a wide range of federal criminal matters, including violent crime and fraud cases.
Military and Educational Background
In addition to his civilian legal service, Govan serves as a Judge Advocate General’s Corps officer in the United States Air Force Reserve, holding the rank of Major. His educational background includes earning both his undergraduate degree and Juris Doctor from The University of Alabama, further solidifying his ties to the state.
Govan succeeds Acting United States Attorney Kevin Davidson, who will continue to serve the Middle District of Alabama as the First Assistant United States Attorney. This transition marks a continuation of leadership dedicated to maintaining justice and safety within the community.
