A Phoenix combat veteran, Kip Roth, and his wife, Cindy Edgar, are reaching out to the community for assistance in locating their missing Chihuahua, Tinkerbell. The 12-year-old companion dog disappeared from their home on May 7, leaving the family worried about her health due to her need for daily heart medication.
Disappearance Raises Concerns
The couple suspects that Tinkerbell may have been taken from their backyard, although they have no concrete evidence. “We saw a mess in the backyard, and I thought maybe someone jumped over the fence to take her, but we don’t know that that’s all speculation,” Roth explained. The only trace left behind was Tinkerbell’s dog tags, found in the front yard.
Efforts to locate Tinkerbell have been extensive. The couple has reviewed footage from two Ring cameras, which showed taillights from a vehicle behind their property but no sign of their 10-pound, tri-colored Chihuahua. They have spent hundreds of dollars on gas while searching the area with volunteers and have posted information about Tinkerbell on various websites and social media platforms.
Health Concerns and Community Involvement
Tinkerbell’s health is a pressing concern for the family. She suffers from heart problems and requires daily medication. “Without it, and the heat compounding her health problems, she’s going to have a heart attack,” Roth stated. The couple has filed police reports and checked local shelters regularly, hoping someone might have turned her in.
Edgar emphasized the emotional support Tinkerbell has provided through challenging times, including illnesses and family losses. The couple is offering a $500 reward for information leading to her safe return and has distributed flyers detailing where Tinkerbell was last seen.
The community’s involvement is crucial in this search, as the family continues to hope for Tinkerbell’s safe return. They encourage anyone with information to come forward to help reunite them with their beloved pet.
