Elaine Williamson, 78, of Dilliner, Pennsylvania, died peacefully on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia. Born in Morgantown on October 6, 1947, Elaine was the daughter of the late Grover and Mildred Sicklesmith Eggers.
Faith and service
A 1966 graduate of Mapletown High School, Elaine devoted much of her adult life to the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church in Dilliner. For more than two decades she volunteered as a church cleaner, a role she performed with humility and dedication, embodying the Christian principle of serving others.
Beyond her church work, Elaine contributed to the community as a cook for several day‑care centers in Morgantown and earlier as an employee at the TwinTwister ice‑cream stand in Dilliner. Her willingness to help wherever needed reflected the traditional family values she cherished.
Family
Elaine was the beloved wife of her high‑school sweetheart, George H. Williamson, whom she married on May 6, 1967. She is survived by her son Michael Williamson and his wife Crystal of Point Marion; three granddaughters—Brooke, Morgan and Karen Williamson; and two great‑grandchildren, Elena and Waylon George Decker. Numerous nieces, nephews and friends also mourn her loss.
She was preceded in death by her son, George E. Williamson, who passed on January 25, 2021; her brothers Allen and Duane Eggers; and her sister Hannavee Sholtis.
Funeral arrangements
Friends may pay their respects at the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home in Point Marion, Pennsylvania, Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and again from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A service will be held Wednesday at noon in the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, Dilliner, with Reverends Gale Cobb and Kenneth Haines officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Taylortown.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be directed to Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, care of Neila Vernon, 443 Dilliner Hill Road, Dilliner, PA 15327.
Elaine’s life was a testament to steadfast faith, family devotion, and community service. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
