Alexandria, MN – A local teenager is making waves on the national stage. Fourteen‑year‑old Brooklyn Marie Ostlund, a ninth‑grader from Alexandria, appeared in the blind auditions of the 2026 season of The Voice and captured the attention of two of the show’s celebrity coaches.
Blind audition performance
Brooklyn took the stage and performed Olivia Rodrigo’s hit “Traitor.” The blind‑audition format means the coaches judge solely on what they hear, and Brooklyn’s vocal talent and confidence were enough to prompt both Queen Latifah and Kelly Clarkson to press their buttons, turning their chairs.
Choosing a coach
After the coaches introduced themselves, Kelly Clarkson told Brooklyn, “I know how to do it, girl. I know how to win this show.” Brooklyn ultimately selected Kelly Clarkson, joining Team Kelly for the remainder of the competition.
