The operation, which involved local, state and federal law‑enforcement agencies, targeted individuals attempting to lure children online for sexual exploitation.

“This was an operation with a targeted goal of stopping human trafficking,” Sheriff Flowers said, emphasizing that the primary aim was to protect children. “Working to capture people who are trying to lure children on the internet and meet up with those children.”
Special Agent Alphonso Williams of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement added, “This operation shows that within our communities, there are dangerous individuals committing heinous crimes who think they can get away with it.”
Key arrests and ongoing investigations
Among the arrests was Carlos Reyes‑Ayala, accused of traveling to Indian River County to meet a child for sexual activity. Flowers noted that detectives operated a dedicated undercover chat room for days, engaging with suspects who sought to arrange meetings with minors. “We had a whole roomful of detectives that were chatting undercover with people who wanted to meet up with children. Our team was busy for days,” he said.
The 50 individuals taken into custody were nearly all charged with prostitution offenses, a common front for broader trafficking networks. Authorities also identified several persons they believe are victims of trafficking, and those investigations remain active.
