Joseph Arminio Secures Republican Nomination for Delaware’s At‑Large House Seat

Washington — In a decisive primary held on Tuesday, Joseph Arminio emerged as the Republican nominee for Delaware’s at‑large congressional district. Arminio, a former state legislator, captured the party’s support after a competitive field, setting the stage for a November showdown against the incumbent Democrat.

Arminio’s Primary Victory

Arminio secured a clear majority of the Republican vote, outpacing his nearest rival by more than 10 percentage points. The former legislator emphasized his commitment to limited government, strong national defense, and protecting family values – themes that resonate with the party’s base. He pledged to work closely with local businesses and community leaders to promote economic growth and job creation across the First State.

“Delaware deserves a representative who will stand up for our families, our faith, and our freedoms,” Arminio told supporters at a rally in Dover. “I will fight for policies that strengthen our economy, protect our Constitution, and uphold the moral fabric of our communities.”

State party officials praised the outcome, noting that Arminio’s experience in the state legislature positions him to be an effective advocate for Delaware in Washington. The general election will be closely watched, as the district has historically swung between parties.

PETA Plans Meeting with Fashion Executive After NY Protest

In a separate national story, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) announced plans to meet with Steven Kolb, the longtime chief executive of the Council of Fashion Designers of America. The meeting follows an incident at a New York Fashion Week runway show where Kolb was filmed physically restraining two PETA employees who were protesting the use of animal skins and wool in the collection.

Kolb has issued an apology, acknowledging that his actions were inappropriate and stating that he is taking a leave of absence pending an internal investigation. PETA’s senior director of media relations, Moira Colley, said the organization originally intended to file a police report but opted instead to seek a dialogue with Kolb after consulting legal counsel.

“Our goal is to end the use of animal products in fashion, and we believe a constructive conversation with industry leaders is essential,” Colley said. “We look forward to discussing how the fashion industry can transition to cruelty‑free materials while respecting the rights of all parties involved.”

The proposed meeting has drawn mixed reactions. Some industry observers view the outreach as a pragmatic step toward reducing animal exploitation, while others criticize the delay in filing a police report as a concession to corporate interests.

Both stories underscore ongoing debates at the national level—one over political representation and the other over ethical standards in a high‑profile industry. As the November elections approach, Delaware voters will decide whether Arminio’s platform aligns with their priorities, while the fashion world watches to see if dialogue can replace confrontation in the fight for animal welfare.
