EPSO Presents ‘Mágico – The Magic of Mexico’ at El Paso’s Plaza Theatre Sep 18‑19

El Paso, TX – The El Paso Symphony Orchestra (EPSO) is kicking off its 2026‑2027 classical season with a vibrant tribute to Mexico. The two‑night concert series, titled ‘Mágico – The Magic of Mexico,’ will be held at the historic Plaza Theatre on September 18 and 19, with doors opening at 7:30 p.m. each evening.

What to expect

Audience members will be treated to a visual and musical journey that showcases the beauty of Mexico’s people, landscapes, and traditions. Renowned photographer Nicholas Bardonnay, whose work is featured by Westwater Arts, has captured striking images that will be projected onto a large digital screen behind the orchestra. The photographs will be paired with live performances of two iconic Mexican compositions: Arturo Márquez’s lively Danzón No. 2 and Carlos Moncayo’s evocative Tierra de Temporal. The combination of vivid imagery and orchestral sound aims to transport viewers to the heart of Mexican culture.

Ticket information

Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased through the EPSO website (epso.org), Ticketmaster, or by calling the EPSO office at (915) 532‑3776. Pricing tiers are $49, $44, $37, $23 and $17, plus fees. Students can attend for $9, while seniors and veterans may purchase tickets for $12 plus fees. All proceeds support EPSO’s ongoing mission to bring world‑class classical music to the El Paso community.

Why this matters to El Paso families

EPSO’s season‑opening event aligns with the community’s strong appreciation for the arts and its close cultural ties to neighboring Mexico. By highlighting Mexican artistry, the concert reinforces the shared heritage that enriches the El Paso region. Families looking for an affordable, educational night out will find a program that celebrates both music and visual art, offering a wholesome experience that aligns with traditional family values.
