Georgetown welcomes new cafés, gyms, and family services in Bluebonnet Plaza

Georgetown’s commercial hub on West University Avenue is buzzing with new openings that cater to families, fitness enthusiasts, and coffee lovers alike. Six businesses have already opened their doors in the Bluebonnet Plaza shopping center, and several more are under construction.

Now open

Perky Beans Coffee – Owned by Ron and Angie Diaz, the Leander‑based café offers a full menu of coffees, teas, smoothies, and grab‑and‑go food. In the evenings the shop will also serve mixed‑alcohol beverages, providing a relaxed spot for adults after work.

Texas Excel Gymnastics Academy – Head coach Kristi Bluett Morton leads this facility, which provides gymnastics classes, competition teams, open‑gym time, and a NinjaZone training area. Prospective members can try trial classes before committing.

Birds Barbershop – This Austin‑based full‑service salon and barbershop now operates its tenth location in Georgetown, delivering haircuts, color, and grooming services for men, women, and children.

Summer Moon Coffee – Owner Randy Findley brings his signature oak‑roasted coffee and “Moon Milk” sweet drink to a new Bluebonnet Plaza location, joining his six other Austin‑area cafés.

Paris Baguette – A French‑inspired Korean bakery café, Paris Baguette offers pastries, cakes, coffee, and fresh‑baked bread. Georgetown residents Saige and David Lee own the local franchise.

Black Rock Coffee Bar – The drive‑through stand adds Georgetown as its tenth Austin‑area store, featuring seasonal drinks such as a cherry tiramisu latte, along with teas, smoothies, and flavored energy drinks.

Aurora Medical Spa – Situated at the intersection of Hwy. 29 and Ronald Reagan Boulevard, Aurora provides Botox, dermaplaning, and other injectable treatments, with personalized consultation plans for each client.

Discount Tire – The auto shop’s second Georgetown location offers a wide selection of tires and wheels for local drivers.

Bad Habits Card Co. – Locally owned by Brodie Sachs, this shop buys, sells, and trades sports cards and trading‑card games, and will host play areas for a variety of games.

Velvet Taco – The Dallas‑based fast‑casual concept opens its fifth Central Texas venue in Bluebonnet Plaza, serving over 20 taco and bowl options plus a daily in‑house red velvet cake.

Coming soon

Tomlinson’s Feed – Currently under construction, this family‑owned pet store from Austin will sell natural, healthy products throughout Central Texas. It already operates locations in Bar W Marketplace and Parmer Ranch Marketplace.

The Goddard School – Enrollment opened July 31 for a new early‑education campus serving children from six weeks to six years. The owners – Swetal Soni, Pinak Gohel, Vaishali Gohel, and Rohan Munshi – also run an existing Georgetown franchise.

What’s next

Permits have been filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for several upcoming projects:

  • Snarf’s Sandwiches – Planning a specialty sandwich shop in Bluebonnet Plaza, with construction slated for Sept. 7‑Dec. 13. The chain already operates five Austin locations.
  • Swim Studio – A swimming‑lesson business for adults and children as young as six months. Construction is set to begin in September and run through February 2028.
  • Bach to Rock – A music school near the Georgetown border will open after shell‑space construction completes between October and November.

Expansions and community highlights

Me Land Georgetown – The indoor playground expanded its play area, adding a “minitown” for younger children where they can dress up, scan imitation grocery items, and milk interactive toy cows.

McIntire’s Garden Center – Celebrating 50 years since its 1976 opening, the center continues to supply plants, gardening supplies, and expert advice to local gardeners.

Williamson County Art Guild – Marking its 50th anniversary, the nonprofit offers art education and affordable gallery space for emerging and established artists.

Rancho San Gabriel – Homebuilder D.R. Horton sold its first home in the new subdivision in May and opened a model home in July. The development offers ten floor plans ranging from 1,236 sq ft to larger three‑ and five‑bedroom homes.

St. David’s CareNow Urgent Care – The health system acquired 14 Texas MedClinic urgent‑care centers in August, adding a location near Round Rock’s border with Georgetown and bringing its total Central Texas urgent‑care sites to 39.

Hannah Banana Breads & More – Owner Hannah Thompson celebrated the bakery’s five‑year anniversary in July and expressed hopes to open a storefront for her custom breads, cakes, and pies.

Grey Orchard Modern American – Taking over the former Denny’s site, the restaurant is owned by James Sun with chef Cole Fitzgerald leading the kitchen. The menu blends classic American fare with inventive fusion dishes.
