Industrious Gym Opens on MoPac Corner Offering 50‑Minute Functional Fitness Classes

Northwest Austin residents now have a locally owned option for efficient, functional fitness. On the corner of MoPac and Parmer Lane, Luis Herrera and his wife Mallory opened Industrious, a gym built around 50‑minute group workouts led by certified coaches.

What the gym offers

Industrious is organized into a series of 13‑by‑13 training zones called the HALO. Each HALO includes a bench, barbells, a rowing machine, a treadmill and additional equipment, allowing members to move freely between stations without crowding. Herrera explains, “Everything you need or that you want for your workout, it’s already here for you. Imagine the garage gym concept times 12, run by one person that’s keeping everybody on tempo.”

The core schedule revolves around the “Industrious 50” classes, which run throughout the day. These 50‑minute sessions blend strength, cardio and mobility work, aiming to give busy families a complete workout without the time‑sink of longer gym sessions. For members who prefer to train independently, the gym also provides open‑gym hours within the HALO zones.

Amenities and upcoming features

Beyond the workout space, the facility includes modern restrooms and showers, catering to commuters and parents dropping kids at nearby schools. Herrera noted that an InBody scan machine is slated for installation later this year, offering members detailed analysis of muscle mass, body fat percentage and other health metrics.

Promotional pricing

To encourage early sign‑ups, Industrious is offering a $1 first‑month membership for the remainder of September, along with additional limited‑time promotions at sign‑up. The pricing strategy is designed to lower the barrier for families seeking quality fitness options without a large upfront commitment.

Franchise background

Industrious began as a small franchise out of Seattle, Washington, and has expanded to several Texas locations, including Frisco, Spring and Mont Belvieu. The Northwest Austin opening marks the brand’s continued growth in the state, reflecting strong demand for functional‑fitness concepts that fit into busy schedules.

Community impact

Local business leaders have praised the gym’s focus on efficient workouts, noting that the 50‑minute class model aligns well with the schedules of working parents and professionals in the area. The gym also creates new employment opportunities for certified coaches and support staff, contributing to the neighborhood’s economic vitality.

For residents interested in trying the facility, memberships can be purchased online or at the front desk. Herrera encourages newcomers to experience a class and see how the HALO layout supports a seamless, community‑focused workout environment.
