BRANDON, Fla. – A routine drive to the hospital turned into a dramatic roadside birth Thursday night when Yasser Solorzado and Aysha Tenouri realized their baby would not wait. The couple pulled into the parking lot of Value Pawn & Jewelry, called 911, and delivered their daughter in the front seat of their car.
Unexpected labor on the road
Tenouri said the labor began only minutes after they left home. “We were about five minutes from the house, and I was like, ‘oh my gosh, it’s coming right now,’” she recalled. “The baby’s head is about to come out, pull over.”
Solorzado quickly steered into the first parking lot he could find – the pawn‑shop lot – and saw the baby beginning to emerge. “Sure enough, I’m starting to see something come out,” he said. “At that point I quickly go into the first parking lot that I find, which happens to be the pawn shop.”
Front‑seat emergency delivery
Solrozado recognized the baby was breech and, with Tenouri’s help, delivered the infant safely in the vehicle. Tenouri praised her partner’s calm demeanor. “He was very calm, very supportive and helped me relax,” she said. “We got through it really smoothly.”
Within six minutes, EMTs arrived, transferred the newborn and her mother to an ambulance, and rushed them to HCA Florida Brandon Hospital.
Healthy arrival and hospital stay
The baby, named Liana Valentina Solorzado, weighed 4 pounds, 10 ounces and arrived nearly four weeks early. Both mother and child were discharged from the NICU, and Liana spent her entire hospital stay in her mother’s arms.
Family members gathered outside the hospital to meet the new arrival. Solrozado expressed gratitude for the smooth outcome. “You can only be thankful for how smooth it really turned out to be,” he said. “That’s something I’m very grateful about.”
Looking ahead
The new family of three plans to leave the hospital and return home on Saturday, eager to begin life with their daughter.
