Police say the motorcyclist was riding westbound on Celery Avenue when two eastbound vehicles – a 2013 Ford Focus driven by a 25‑year‑old Deltona resident and a 2007 Toyota Avalon driven by a 56‑year‑old Deltona man – approached the intersection. The driver of the Ford attempted to pass in a no‑passing zone, crossed the center line, and entered the westbound lane, striking the motorcycle head‑on.

The impact threw the rider from his bike and caused the Ford to spin, striking the rear left of the Toyota. Both drivers of the cars remained uninjured and stayed at the scene while emergency crews attended to the motorcyclist.
