Czech National Soccer Team to Host Community Training in Mansfield

The Czech National Soccer Team is set to engage with the North Texas community by hosting a special training session at Mansfield Stadium on June 6. This event offers a unique opportunity for local fans to see the team in action as they prepare for the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Community Engagement in Mansfield

Scott Norton, General Manager of Mansfield Stadium, expressed excitement about the event, stating, “It is an honor to serve as Team Czechia’s Base Camp Training Site, and we’re thrilled to share this experience with our community.” The session will allow fans to witness the on-field training of one of the world’s top national teams.

Pavel Nedvěd, General Manager of the Czech national team, shared his enthusiasm for connecting with the local community, highlighting the significance of the team’s return to the World Cup after 20 years. “The community training session is always a great event, and we are looking forward to meeting the people from Dallas, which will become our home for a few weeks,” he said.

Mansfield’s Role in the World Cup

In March, Mansfield Stadium was designated as a FIFA World Cup 2026 Team Base Camp Training Site. The Czech team was assigned to this venue after advancing through UEFA Play-Off Path D. The stadium will serve as the team’s primary training and operational headquarters throughout the tournament.

Mansfield Mayor Michael Evans emphasized the importance of this event for the community, stating, “Mansfield is proud to host the Czechia national team, and we want to show them they have the community’s support.” He noted that hosting these elite athletes is a significant step in establishing Mansfield as the Southern Gateway to Soccer in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

The training session on June 6 will be the only public opportunity to watch Team Czechia train before they kick off their World Cup schedule against South Korea on June 11 at Guadalajara Stadium. The team will also face South Africa in Atlanta and Mexico in Mexico City during Group A play.
