Wylie High Schools Celebrate Class of 2026 Graduations

The Wylie East High School and Wylie High School Classes of 2026 celebrated their graduation on Saturday, May 23, with over 1,350 seniors receiving diplomas at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen. The ceremonies were attended by families, friends, faculty members, and district leaders who gathered to honor the accomplishments and perseverance of the graduating classes.

In the afternoon, Wylie East High School held its ceremony for 602 graduates. Principal Tiffany Doolan welcomed attendees and emphasized the importance of celebrating each graduate’s moment. National Honor Society President Eliana Tamrat reflected on the experiences that shaped the class, highlighting the hard work and relationships built over the past four years. The ceremony also recognized students entering military service, with Col. Brooks McFarland praising their commitment to serving others.

Valedictorian Amanda Lu spoke about embracing uncertainty and growth, encouraging classmates to trust themselves as they move forward. A moment of remembrance was held for former classmate Xander Wade, with Nevaeh Campbell honoring his resilience and positive impact. Mindy Tran reminded graduates that commencement marks a beginning rather than an end, while Principal Doolan celebrated their legacy and future potential.

Later that evening, 751 graduates from Wylie High School participated in their commencement exercises led by Principal Brian Alexander. The ceremony began with the presentation of colors by the Air Force Junior ROTC cadets, followed by a recording of the National Anthem by the Wylie High Wind Symphony. Student Body President Channing Shepherd reflected on the challenges faced by the senior class, while Vice President Ava Griess acknowledged the support from teachers, staff, and parents.

National Honor Society President Nathan Reske introduced Wylie ISD Superintendent Kim Spicer, who addressed her first graduating class since taking on the role. Salutatorian Kyler Eiben spoke about the friendships and memories shared by the class, and Valedictorian Camryn Sellers encouraged embracing failure as part of personal growth. The ceremony concluded with district officials certifying the graduating class and Principal Alexander’s final message to the Class of 2026.
